The UK has a huge problem with fly tipping. They should take a leaf out of Slovenia's book.
Twice a year (Spring and Autum) we have BIG RUBBISH DAY.
You can put outside your house anything that you want taking away (for free) to be dumped or recycled.
Fridges, old sofas, car tyres etc, basically anything that you don't put in a normal rubbish bin.
Whats quite funny is that a lot of it gets taken by the gypsys. They collect various bits, mainly metal and sell it, which is fair enough.
What made us laugh the other day is that a few days before the BIG RUBBISH DAY our local gypsy called at the house and gave us his mobile number and said to call him once we had sorted out any rubbish to give him first refusal. (Our local gyspys are very polite and since we have been renovaing property, a great help in rubbish recycling!).

Welcome to Moved East! It takes a special breed to live in Central and Eastern Europe and the Balkans. This is the place where we come to share our joys and woes.
It's still pretty quiet round here - it's always the way with getting a new community off the ground. Why not register now (it's really simple) and be among the first to post something, even if it's just a HI in the General Chat section and a word or two about yourself?
