Hello all,

I just discovered this forum and find it interesting. I am a Serb (from BiH) moving to Belgrade from Canada for work. I share your sentiments about moving to Serbia, it is country with its own strenghts and weaknesses.

I'd like to ask if anyone here can give me an advice on moving from Canada to Serbia. I have decided to sell everything here and move only my books and clothing. What is the most cost effective and most reliable way to move to Serbia? I understand that moving companies charge by the pound of cargo and as you know, books are heavy.

I appreciate your responses.

P.S. I think it would be a good idea to share your experiences with moving companies you hired to move you to Serbia. Also, new topic about this might be usefull to future ex-pats.

Hi, welcome to the forum!

Speaking for myself, I moved here bit by bit, so didn't have this problem. I initially turned up with two suitcases, and acquired most of my worldly possessions IN Serbia. Maybe someone has some other experince - I understand most people use container ship for larger amounts of stuff and that it works out rfairly cheap comparatively...
