The first city to visit in Russia should definitely be Saint Petersburg! Have anyone been there? |

Hi - the last time I went there, it was still called Leningrad
It was really amazing though - Moscow was quite dark in a way, St. Petersburg far more "European", which was after all Peter the Great's intention when he built it.
I was there in about 1990 or 1991 - I can't remember that much about it now, except that the main street, Nevski Prospekt, had a shop which sold only light bulbs! I bet nowadays it's an expensive boutique - Russia has changed SO much in the last 15 years, I probably wouldn't recognise it if I went there.
If going to Russia it would also be interesting to visit some more out-of-the-way places, like Irkutsk or somewhere, where things have changed a lot less, I bet...[/url] _________________ Odista - professional English and Serbian translation services.
