I have one abiding memory of Turkey - CATS! Thousands upon millions of them, springing from every rubbish container as you walk past! A nightmare land for cat-lovers, I am sure. I used to be one myself - I think I stopped being one the moment I saw SO MANY of them in one place - they lost their appeal somehow...!

However, it is something of a mystery how rubbish alone can support such a huge wild population of the creatures..!
